50 reasons to like AsuMey! [UPDATE: 11th June]

I think we've had enough "negativity around AsuMey" posts, so here's an attempt to brighten the atmosphere. Early or not.

50 REASONS TO LIKE ASUMEY.


I'm fine with 25, but it would be awesome if you guys could give 50. Or 75, or 100 reasons or even enough to convert someone more! In other words; spread the love! The reasons can vary from serious to silly. Just state why you like the pairing. XD

I'll be posting the list on my upcoming fanlisting with built-in shrine! XDDDD credit will be given ofcourse {|D~

..and hey, who else is hoping for an extra AsuMey scene in the special edition?? :D :D

To the reason givers: We have 50 reasons completed, and I know there are a few pending, but I'll have them on hold until we have a little more canon.

Hey! =) I'm an asucaga fan. I think it's really mean to generalize that WE ASUCAGA FANS ARE RABID SCARY. Most of us are not like that. We become like that because you treat us like its asumey forever. Though I really think that they are a good couple, but I think asucaga is the best!

I'll think of some later. :D And I kinda want more AsuMey scenes. It amuses me when rabid fans go LOVE LOVE ASUCAGA SCENES!111! when hey, the special edition's are in Athrun's POV, so there could also be more AsuMey, AsuMeer, Asu+YzaDea, GillyAsu etc scenes. XD

It's a fresh and new relationship with no previous emotional baggage.

There will be no emo!

They never tried to kill each other. :D

She knows him better now than any other girl besides Lacus.

Athrun has a green fetish. Meyrin wears green. -> important

They believe in the same things.

There is nothing stopping them from being together. other than asucaga fans

Meyrin has seen him at his absolute worst and still stays by his side.

They trust in each other.

Their love would piss off many annoying people.

Double dates with Shinn and Luna would be fun.

Because Cagalli approves! (see episode 45 :D)

They both grew from knowing each other. Athrun was able to depend on someone and Meyrin was able to mature and prove that she actually isn't just a fangirl obsessed with shopping.


This was actually hard - because I keep thinking I'm going to have to argue for my reasons. :D I'll think of more later~

Because Meyrin's optimistic outlook is what Athrun needs

Because Athrun cuddled her when he still barely knew her (See episode nineteen)

Because they can have indepth discussions and open up around each other(CD drama)

Because it's cute (Lame, but it's necessary. XD )

...Because she's willing to get naked for him. ...*hides*

23- Because she understands him and his decisions.

24- Because when they're wearing their ZAFT uniforms they look strikingly colour-coordinated with each other. (Meyrin: Red hair, Blue eyes, Green unifom; Athrun: Blue hair, Green eyes, Red uniform. Am I the only one seeing something here? >.>)

I am an ASUCAGA fan... And I promise that I will stay like that FOREVER!!! I KNOW that Athrun and Meyrin are just having a brother-sister type of relationship... 29.Because he could have stopped her when she offered to help him escape but he didn't.

30.Their fan art is very cute and no one ever mistakes it for being two guys together.

31.Her smile at the end of Final Plus.

32. His smile when he put the robe around her shoulders.

33.Because she is the only one who has ever said yes when he asked them to come with him.(At least I think she is the only one.Sorry if I got my info wrong on this one.^_^;;;)

34.He gets really angry whenever anyone tries to hurt her.

35. Their relationship wasn't forced like Cagalli and Athrun.

36. They didn't just settle for each other because everyone else was taken at least..

37. Fudaka's wife stated that Meyrin is the type of person that can give more than she recives.

38. Meyrin can offer Athrun a life away from politics.

41. She chose him over everyone. Comparing it to his other relationships : 1)Cagalli picked her country over him with her marriage. 2) Meer picked her "dream" over him.

42. They went through many near death and other experiences together.

43. It was stated by the writer/director when Seed started that Athrun actually prefers Motherly girls.

44. Athrun isn't the type of person to string along someone. If he hated having her near him all the time, he would distance himself. He doesn't, so obviously he enjoys her company.

I respect all your interests with all my heart...I happen to like Meyrin as a person. I happen to agree with #19...she is cute... ^_-

...Actually, imho that's more of an "against" than a "for" as far as AsuMey's concerned...because bridging the gap between naturals and coordinators is supposedly the hope of the future, right?

err....54. Having to bear "the future of the coordinators" through his genetic choice of girlfriend - its just more stress that Athrun doesn't need? :P
